FEBuilderGBA review
A free, open-source Windows editor focused on FE6, FE7, and FE8 ROMs.

FEBuilderGBA is a desktop ROM-hacking suite for modders working on Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem releases. It supports FE6, FE7, and FE8, including Japanese and North American releases, except FE6, which is Japan-only. Windows modders who want to edit these games' ROMs and game data are its natural audience; it is a noncommercial, open-source project and is not associated with the official Fire Emblem products.
The editor brings several parts of a game modification workflow together: it displays game images, imports and exports game data, remodels maps, edits tables, manages community patches, and inserts music. That breadth is useful within its supported games, but the scope is deliberately narrow: it is tailored to the Fire Emblem GBA trilogy rather than ROM editing across different titles. Modders working on other games should look for a tool that supports those titles.
FEBuilderGBA is free, and its project is licensed under GPL-3. The repository links to an installer and documentation. Windows is the recommended platform; the documentation describes Linux/Mono compatibility as uncertain, so Windows users are the clearest fit. Support is community-based, making this a better match for solo modders comfortable with a community-made tool than for teams seeking a commercial product or dedicated support channel.
