FairTally is a shared-expense ledger for couples, throuples, polycules, and other households living together. Members record an amount, category, and payer, then allocate the cost equally, by percentage, or by ratio. A saved household split can apply by default while individual expenses receive overrides. Balances show who owes whom, and members can record a settlement after arranging payment outside the service. Households can include up to 10 members through web, iOS, and Android apps.

The published plans show one paid tier with monthly and annual billing. FairTally Household costs $5.99 per household per month or $49.99 per household per year, with full access for up to 10 members and web, iOS, and Android access. A 14-day full-access period is available without a card. After that period, view-only access remains free, while an active subscription is required to keep adding or editing expenses. Invitations use join codes or private links, and the service provides email and documentation support.

FairTally fits households that want a structured ledger without bank linking or money transfers. Two-factor authentication and encrypted connections address account and connection security, while category breakdowns help organize shared spending. The main boundary is its manual workflow: expenses are entered by users, payments happen through external methods, and settlements are recorded afterward. Recurring expenses are not supported, so households with repeating bills may need another approach or a separate tool. Choose FairTally when custom allocation rules, household invitations, and cross-platform access matter more than automated payment flows.
