ExplainerDashboard review
A free Python library for shareable explanations and performance views of supported models.

ExplainerDashboard is an open-source Python library for inspecting and explaining predictions from scikit-learn-compatible machine-learning models. It is aimed at data scientists who want interactive views for themselves or stakeholders such as managers and customers. Its focus is model explainability: teams can examine individual predictions, feature contributions, and model behavior through dashboards rather than treating it as a general-purpose model development tool.
The feature set combines several explanation and evaluation views. It includes SHAP contributions for individual predictions, SHAP and permutation feature importance, interaction plots, and partial-dependence plots. What-if analysis lets users inspect individual predictions under changed inputs. Classification dashboards include confusion matrices and ROC/PR AUC plots; regression views include goodness-of-fit and residual plots. Supported forest and boosting models can also show individual trees. These capabilities give teams multiple ways to investigate a model, but the library is oriented around supported models rather than universal model coverage.
Users can create standard dashboards, customize layouts, place components in notebooks, and combine dashboards in an ExplainerHub. Static HTML export is useful when a dashboard needs to be shared without running the interactive application. The project documents integrations with scikit-learn, XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM, Skorch, and Amazon SageMaker Studio. It runs in the user's environment, so it suits teams comfortable with a Python-library workflow and self-hosted deployment. Choose it for shareable, feature-attribution-centered model inspection; look elsewhere if your priority is a vendor-hosted service or support beyond its documented model ecosystem.

- Custom dashboards can be exported as static HTML.
- Where it doesn't
- Focused on scikit-learn-compatible models and documented integrations.
- Dashboards run in your own environment rather than vendor-hosted SaaS.
- Documentation and community are the listed support channels.
