Our verdict on Event Countdown
Birthdays, trips, weddings and other milestones are the focus of Event Countdown, a mobile date-countdown and reminder app for Android and iOS. It suits people who want upcoming events visible from a home screen, with a calendar and list view for keeping dates organized. The free version includes unlimited countdowns and a basic home-screen widget, making it a practical fit for personal use without turning into a broad widget toolkit.
The product’s main strength is the event workflow: users can add colors, icons and notes, set reminders and detailed alerts, then repeat or copy events. Countdown sharing and shareable videos extend that workflow beyond personal tracking. Premium adds widgets for individual events, calendar-selected events, upcoming events and live countdowns, as well as calendar features, detailed alerts, repetition and cloud backup and sync. The published plan names are Premium monthly, Premium yearly and Premium lifetime; the lifetime option is described as a one-off purchase. These tiers identify payment choices, but prices may be shown in the app or store and vary by region.
This is a narrow choice for people who value countdowns and event reminders over general home-screen customization: it does not offer weather widgets, music controls, task or note widgets, or shortcut controls. Android and iOS availability makes it suitable across those mobile platforms, though the official widget guidance describes iOS widget types while confirming Android widgets without specifying their types. Choose it for event-focused tracking and sharing; look elsewhere if you need a wider selection of widget functions or documented parity between platform widget options.
