Ethnio review
A participant-management CRM for teams running research with their own audiences.

Ethnio is a user research CRM for recruiting, screening, scheduling, managing, and compensating research participants. It is designed for researchers, designers, research operations teams, program managers, and organizations running moderated or unmoderated studies with their own audiences. Recruitment can begin through website intercepts, iOS and Android app intercepts using WebViews, screener links, or an existing participant pool. The product also covers consent, incentives, surveys, scheduling, and participant records.
Pricing is divided into three plans. Individual costs $12 per month and includes unlimited studies and intercepts, plus a 24/7 help center. Pro costs $82 per seat per month and adds localization and global incentives, centralized consent, and unlimited collaborators. Enterprise includes a pool with unlimited participants, multi-team support, a dedicated customer success manager with Slack and Zoom support, SSO, and third-party risk assessments. The paid structure fits teams that need progressively stronger collaboration, administration, and governance capabilities, while Individual is aimed at a single researcher or smaller operation.
Ethnio’s ecosystem coverage is a significant part of its appeal. Meeting and calendar connections include Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Calendar, and Outlook; consent can connect with DocuSign and Adobe Sign; surveys can connect with SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics; and research operations can connect with Snowflake, Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Excel, and an API. API access, webhooks, and CRM synchronization support teams with established data workflows. The main boundary is scope: Ethnio supplies recruitment infrastructure for customer-owned audiences rather than an external participant panel or recruiting agency. Teams that need prototype support or a complete end-to-end usability-testing suite should choose a more specialized alternative. Ethnio is the better fit when participant operations are the central challenge.
