Our verdict on Engxam
Engxam is a web-based preparation platform for learners taking Cambridge English qualifications from A2 Key through C2 Proficiency. It covers Listening, Reading, Use of English, Writing and Speaking, making it suitable for solo learners who want structured practice across the full exam rather than a single paper. The platform also includes a Cambridge exam speaking question bank and supports cloud deployment.
The paid service is offered in 1-month, 3-month and 6-month plans, each focused on online Cambridge English exam preparation. Its central strength is breadth: learners get 100+ online practice tests, with both full-length and section-specific modes, plus answer review, progress charts, performance insights and Cambridge score estimation. Grammar and vocabulary lessons add interactive study outside mock exams. Speaking practice with worldwide partners extends preparation beyond self-marked exercises, while professional writing-paper reviews are available separately for €8 each.
Engxam fits learners who want a concentrated Cambridge study workspace in a browser, particularly solo or small-scale users who value many tests and cross-paper coverage. Email is the listed support channel, and refunds are available within three days. The web-only delivery keeps access focused on browser use, so learners seeking a native mobile app should consider alternatives. The additional cost for essay reviews also matters for candidates who want included human writing feedback. Choose Engxam when test volume, score tracking and partner speaking practice are priorities; choose another option when a free tier, mobile-first access or bundled essay assessment is essential.
From the maker
Written by engxam.com · approved by our editors 30 Sep 2026. It does not change our score or ranking.
Engxam is an online Cambridge English exam prep platform for self-study candidates. It covers A2 Key (KET), B1 Preliminary (PET), B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and C2 Proficiency (CPE) — including CPE, which many paid prep tools still omit.
Practice follows the real paper: Reading, Use of English, Listening, Writing and Speaking. Each task has instant answers and explanations. A progress tracker estimates exam scores so you can see which paper is weak before you book the real date.
The free layer includes a handbook of exam tips, grammar by CEFR level, model writings, and an English level test. A subscription unlocks the full test bank in the browser, with no app install. Writing papers can be sent for human review against Cambridge marking criteria; that add-on is €8 per paper and is not bundled into the plan.
Plans are one-off access, not a rolling course: 1 month €5.99, 3 months €12.99, 6 months €18.99. Built for adults preparing at home who need exam-format practice rather than a general English app.

Founder note: what the platform actually covers
The core is Cambridge-format practice for KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE — Reading, Use of English, Listening, Writing and Speaking — with explanations after each task and a score tracker. The handbook and level test stay free; a subscription unlocks the full bank. Writing review is a separate paid check, not part of the plan. What still needs work: there is no native iOS/Android app, only the browser.
Pros- Covers KET through CPE, including CPE
- Exam-style papers with explanations
- Free handbook and level test
Cons- Web only — no iOS or Android app
