Our verdict on EastWest ComposerCloud+

ComposerCloud+ is EastWest’s subscription library for composers, producers, and other music creators who want a wide range of sounds in one catalog. It spans orchestral, cinematic, drum, piano, guitar, synth, vocal, and world-music collections, with more than 43,000 virtual instruments available. Users can search, audition, and download individual instruments, then play them through EastWest’s OPUS engine either in a supported DAW or in the OPUS Stand-Alone application. It suits people who value access to a broad, changing collection over owning a fixed set of instruments outright.

The choice is between two paid plans: Month costs $19.99 per month, while Year costs $239.88 per year. Both provide access to the instrument collection and include new releases; the Month plan also specifies that subscribers can cancel anytime. There is no free plan, but a 14-day free trial is available. The subscription model makes the catalog accessible without a larger one-time purchase, though it means access depends on maintaining a paid plan. This is a better fit for active projects that draw on varied sounds than for someone seeking a small, permanent library with no recurring cost.

For workflow fit, ComposerCloud+ supports VST3, AU, and AAX plug-ins as well as standalone operation, and is listed for use with DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, Reaper, FL Studio, and Studio One. Instruments can be installed to a local or external drive, with license activation by machine or iLok key. The license allows activation on up to two devices per subscription, and commercial use is royalty-free. Choose it if broad EastWest coverage and DAW flexibility matter; look elsewhere if you need instruments outside this collection or prefer a non-subscription purchase.
