east-tec Eraser is Windows desktop software for securely erasing files and traces of computer and internet activity. It is aimed at solo users and small organizations that want recurring privacy cleanup, rather than broad drive erasure. Its scope includes supported browser history, cookies and address-bar locations, temporary files, deleted-file remnants, and activity traces from supported third-party applications. It also wipes removable media such as USB drives, memory cards and external hard drives.

Cleanup can be scheduled, and the software offers 14 built-in wiping methods alongside user-defined methods. The listed methods include DoD 5220.22-M, GOST P50739-95, VSITR, Bruce Schneier Algorithm and Peter Gutmann Method. Reports document data-wiping activity; command-line jobs and file or folder exclusions add options for repeatable workflows. These capabilities make the product a better fit for targeted trace cleanup and removable-media handling than for organizations seeking a wider device-erasure system.

According to the vendor's pricing information, the Eraser Plan costs $39.95 per year and includes east-tec Eraser plus one year of free updates and support. A 15-day fully functional trial is available, but there is no free plan. Windows-only availability and the file-focused scope are important limits: choose it for scheduled privacy-trace cleanup on Windows, particularly when reports or command-line jobs matter. Look elsewhere if you need broad drive erasure or support beyond Windows.
