E-file.com is browser-based tax software for individual taxpayers preparing U.S. federal and state income tax returns. Guided questions help users enter tax information, after which the service prepares returns for electronic submission or for printing and mailing. It is aimed at solo filers who want per-return pricing and options for common personal situations, including dependents, retirement income, itemized deductions and business income reported on a personal return.

The published plans use a freemium structure. Basic Federal provides free federal filing for eligible filers. Deluxe Plus E-file costs $29.99 per return and adds dependent filing, mortgage-interest deductions, retirement income, plus phone and online support. Premium Plus E-file costs $49.99 per return and adds itemized deductions, credit schedules, business and personal income support, telephone support and IRS audit assistance. State preparation and filing are available for an additional fee. These tiers let filers pay more when their return requires broader schedules or support.

Its feature set covers the main filing workflow: progress is saved for later, tax extensions can be prepared, amended individual returns can be e-filed, and filed returns can be downloaded or printed. The service supports national and state jurisdictions through a cloud deployment, with email, phone, ticket and documentation support channels. Its scope remains consumer-focused and individual-only, so organizations needing separate business-entity returns should choose another product. E-file.com fits solo taxpayers with straightforward to moderately complex personal filings; those wanting desktop software or bundled state filing should look elsewhere.
