e-Boekhouden API connects external software with the e-Boekhouden.nl online accounting platform through SOAP. It is aimed at developers building integrations for entrepreneurs, small businesses, accountants and bookkeepers. The API supports adding and retrieving invoices, creating accounting mutations such as memorial entries, retrieving ledger accounts, managing relationships, and retrieving mutations and balances. Its two-way access supports both automated data entry and the retrieval of bookkeeping information.

Pricing is structured around three plans. ZZP Pakket costs €9.95 per month and includes bookkeeping and invoicing, a maximum of 240 bookings, and unlimited invoicing. Standaard includes unlimited bookkeeping, no invoicing, and all other functions. Standaard + Factureren adds unlimited invoicing to unlimited bookkeeping and all other functions. A 14-day trial is available, and there is no free plan. This structure suits integrations where a low monthly starting price matters, while the plan choice depends on whether invoicing is required and whether the 240-booking limit fits the administration.

The main technical trade-off is the integration model. Access uses sessions and security codes, with authentication based on a username and two security codes. The API does not provide webhooks or an isolated sandbox; testing uses a separate test account. That makes it a practical fit for scheduled or request-based synchronization, but less suitable for teams that require event-driven updates or a dedicated environment for integration testing. Choose e-Boekhouden API when the target accounting platform is e-Boekhouden.nl and core bookkeeping, invoice, and balance operations are enough. Consider an alternative when webhook support, sandbox isolation, or modern token-based authentication is a requirement.
