Our verdict on DSP-Quattro

DSP-Quattro is a macOS desktop application for audio editing, mastering, CD-ROM authoring, plug-in hosting, and batch processing. Its feature set is aimed at audio professionals and users who want a standalone Mac workflow for preparing, processing, checking, and delivering audio. The application combines waveform editing, a mixer, real-time input/output processing, sequencing, stereo processing, and an AudioCD layout editor with CD-ROM burning. It also supports delivery formats including AIFF, WAVE, MP3, M4A, CAF, FLAC, AAC, DDP, raw binary, and dual L/R mono.

Pricing is straightforward but separates new purchases from upgrades. The DSP-Quattro 6.x new license costs $99 one time and includes the full package for macOS. The DSP-Quattro 6.x upgrade costs $49 one time and includes the full package for existing customers registered to a previous DSP-Quattro or DSP-AudioCDBuilder version. The demo has unlimited duration, but it cannot save or export files, so the paid license is required for completed deliverables. According to the vendor’s pricing structure, the $49 option is specifically an upgrade rather than the general entry price.

The strongest fit is for Mac users who value a concentrated mastering and delivery workflow over a broader connected ecosystem. LUFS and True Peak metering support loudness review, while programmable batch processing can help with repeated file operations. DDP import and export, AudioCD layout editing, and CD burning extend the application beyond basic waveform work. The main trade-off is platform and ecosystem scope: DSP-Quattro is macOS-only and has no integrations. Choose it for standalone mastering, CD authoring, plug-in hosting, and multi-format delivery on Mac; choose an alternative if cross-platform access or connected services are central requirements.
