Drive Weather focuses on weather planning along a journey, showing conditions, temperature, wind, radar and active warnings timed to estimated arrival. It suits motorists, truckers, RVers and riders who want to account for changing conditions while choosing or following a route. The app is available for iOS and Android, and supports route comparisons, departure-time adjustments, and adding or moving stops and waypoints.

The free plan includes a two-day route forecast, animated radar, an interactive time slider, CarPlay and home-screen widget support, plus saved history and favorites. PRO is available for $19.99 per year or $5.99 per month. Both paid options include a seven-day forecast, unlimited trip length, an icy pavement indicator, stops and waypoints, wind speed and direction, and severe warnings and watches. For occasional short trips, the free tier provides a way to check route weather; frequent or longer journeys may make the extended forecast and trip length relevant.

Its ecosystem is centered on driving: listed integrations include Waze, Apple Maps and Google Maps, alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic location and route updates while driving add to that focus, while live radar, warnings and advisories give travelers several ways to track conditions along the way. Choose Drive Weather if forecasts tied to route timing and arrival points matter more than a broad standalone weather experience. It is less suited to someone seeking a general-purpose weather app rather than a tool organized around trips.

Drive Weather pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Forecasts are timed to estimated arrival along a route.
    • Compare routes and adjust timing with a departure-time slider.
    • Works with Waze, Apple Maps, Google Maps, CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Where it doesn't
    • Free forecasts cover only two days and have a limited route length.
    • The seven-day forecast and unlimited trip length require PRO.
    • Designed around route weather rather than general-purpose forecasting.
