Donor Merchant is a GPL-licensed, open-source WordPress donation plugin for nonprofits and other organizations. It supports one-time and recurring donations through Stripe and PayPal, with donor records, campaigns, receipts, annual tax statements, fee recovery, offline donation entry and custom fields. Donation forms can be added through a WordPress block or shortcode, making it a fit for organizations that want donation management within a self-hosted WordPress site.
Pricing is structured around a free feature tier and two paid service plans. The Free plan costs $0 forever and includes one-time and recurring donations, Stripe and PayPal payments, campaigns with goal thermometers, a donor database with CSV export, PDF receipts, annual tax statements and offline donation entry. The .Org plan costs $29 per month and adds priority email support, help connecting Stripe, PayPal and webhooks, plus donation-page and fundraising guidance. At $149 per month, Agency adds same-day priority response during business hours, support across client sites, an onboarding and setup call, and custom development and integration help.
Its ecosystem fit is centered on WordPress and connected fundraising tools. Stripe supports cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and ACH, while PayPal provides another donation route. Zapier and Make webhooks, Mailchimp sync, automatic email receipts and admin notifications extend the workflow beyond the donation form. Donor Merchant is a strong choice for nonprofits comfortable with self-hosted WordPress and willing to manage their own site environment. Organizations seeking a hosted donation service, or teams that need paid onboarding, integration assistance or client-site support, should consider the corresponding paid tier or an alternative built around managed deployment.
