Don's Tools Background Remover is a free browser-based tool for removing image backgrounds with an AI segmentation model. It suits people who want private processing without uploading images to a server, creating an account, or adding a watermark. The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP files, then produces transparent, white, black, or custom-colour backgrounds. Its availability across web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android also makes it practical for users working across different devices.
The published plan structure is simple: there is one Free plan, with AI background removal, no account required, no watermark, and local browser processing. There are no paid tiers to compare. Processing runs through WebGPU when available and falls back to the CPU, so the tool can work across compatible devices without requiring a separate desktop application. Batch processing supports up to 150 images at once, which gives the free tool useful capacity for repeated background-removal work.
Its main strength is the combination of local processing, batch support, and background replacement options. Users can choose transparency or apply white, black, or a custom colour before downloading PNG results. The trade-off is a narrow workflow: PNG is the only export format, and the product is centered on background removal rather than advanced editing. It is a strong fit for privacy-conscious users and straightforward batch jobs, while people who need broader export choices, a documented API, integrations, or more extensive image-editing controls should choose another tool.
