Docsvault is an on-premise document management system for law firms, corporate legal departments, and other document-intensive teams. It organizes files by client and matter in a controlled repository, with full-text and proximity search, OCR for scanned documents, version rollback, audit trails, role-based and folder-level permissions, and records retention controls. Legal-focused tools include PDF editing, redaction, Bates numbering, workflow approvals, and legal holds. Access is available through web, Windows, iOS, and Android deployments, while the main repository stays on the customer’s infrastructure.

The Small Business plan includes version control, audit trail, search and OCR, web access, and mobile access, and begins with five users. Docsvault offers a 30-day free trial without requiring a card, but there is no free plan. Enterprise adds a full-featured enterprise edition with optional automation add-ons, while Ultimate includes enterprise features and all automation add-ons. These tiers suit organizations that need progressively broader automation and administrative capabilities, though larger teams must contact sales for plan pricing.

Platform fit is a notable strength: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Active Directory, and a REST API support common legal and corporate workflows. AI features are included alongside workflow automation and approvals. Support channels cover email, phone, tickets, and documentation, but support is not offered 24/7. Docsvault is a strong match for small or mid-market teams that want matter organization, search, and governance while retaining infrastructure control. Teams seeking a vendor-managed repository or round-the-clock support should consider alternatives.
