DNSFilter is a cloud-based internet filtering and protective DNS service for businesses, schools, managed service providers, and public Wi-Fi operators. It applies DNS policies to block malicious domains, unwanted content, and applications, with deployment options for networks, roaming devices, and DNS Relay. Administrators can create allow and block lists, enforce SafeSearch and YouTube Restricted Mode, schedule filtering by time and day, and protect users away from the network with roaming clients.

Pricing is structured around per-license annual billing. Core starts at $1 per license per month and includes content filtering, phishing, malware, and botnet protection, DNS encryption with DNS-over-TLS, network deployment, and Windows and macOS roaming clients. Plus costs $2.25 per license per month and adds guest Wi-Fi filtering, CyberSight user behavior analytics, roaming clients on supported platforms, and additional reporting and policy capabilities. Enterprise offers custom pricing with advanced deployment and reporting capabilities. A 14-day free trial is available, while there is no free plan.

DNSFilter fits organizations that need centralized policy control across networks and off-network devices, with integrations for Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Zapier, Splunk, and Microsoft Sentinel. Its reporting stack includes Insights dashboards, query logs, scheduled reports, CSV export, and SIEM data export. AppAware supports application blocking, while universal lists help keep policies consistent across deployments. Choose DNSFilter when managed filtering, threat blocking, reporting, and platform coverage matter more than a free tier. Organizations seeking a fixed Enterprise price or a free ongoing plan should look elsewhere.
