Digi Remote Manager is a cloud-based platform for activating, monitoring, diagnosing and managing distributed IoT devices, including Digi routers and gateways. It suits teams responsible for remote fleets that need to configure devices, deploy firmware and files, check health metrics, or troubleshoot without travelling to each location. The service is available through a web interface and API, and Digi documents deployments ranging from hundreds to thousands of devices. It is a focused fit for Digi device fleets rather than a general-purpose manager for arbitrary hardware.

Fleet operations cover both routine administration and remote intervention. Teams can apply configurations and firmware updates to individual devices or groups, schedule tasks, configure health alerts, run reports and view location data. File access and SMS remote commands provide additional ways to diagnose or act on devices. Browser-based Remote Reach can provide access to downstream IT and OT equipment, while Python scripts support edge computing tasks. These capabilities make the product relevant where management needs extend beyond status dashboards into maintenance and edge work. The service supports EDP, RCI and SMS/UDP protocols.

Integrations and deployment shape the choice. REST APIs and data streams can connect device information with other systems, and listed integrations include Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform. The cloud service is paid and licensed per device; Digi lists one-, three- and five-year Premier subscriptions. Teams wanting on-premises deployment should assess Digi On-Prem Manager separately, since it is a distinct product. Digi Remote Manager is a stronger fit for organizations standardizing on Digi devices and cloud fleet operations; teams managing mixed-vendor hardware or requiring on-premises management should compare alternatives.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Designed for connected Digi devices, including Digi routers and gateways
