Our verdict on Devious Machines Infiltrator 2
Devious Machines Infiltrator 2 is a multi-effect audio plugin for musicians, producers and sound designers who want to build and sequence complex processing chains. It can combine up to ten effects from 54 modules, covering filters, distortion, pitch shifting, delay, reverb and spectral processing, among other types. The plugin runs on macOS and Windows hosts in VST 2, VST 3, AudioUnit and AAX formats. Its focus is sound transformation within a plugin, rather than a wider music-production environment.
Sequencing and modulation are central to the design. A 32-step onboard sequencer works alongside two tempo-synced multi-segment envelopes per effect, eight assignable macro controls, and audio and MIDI triggering. Those controls give sound designers several ways to animate a chain or make it respond to input. More than 1,500 presets offer starting points, while adjustable internal oversampling modes provide another processing control. This depth suits users who want one plugin for layered, rhythmic effects; it may be more than needed for someone seeking a single conventional delay or reverb.
The published plan lists one perpetual license, Infiltrator 2, at a one-time price of $134.99, and a 14-day demo mode is available. There is no free plan. The license covers the plugin across its listed formats, but a compatible macOS or Windows host is still part of the setup. Choose it if sequencing multiple effect types, triggering patterns and shaping macros are central to your work. If you only need a narrow effect or are looking for a broader production tool, a more focused plugin may be a better fit.
