Our verdict on Depict
Depict combines site search, collection merchandising and product recommendations for e-commerce brands. It suits merchants who want to shape product discovery as well as help shoppers find editorial, help and policy content. Search uses AI, keyword matching and merchandising rules, with autocomplete and AI-generated search overviews. The product is available as a cloud service, with web and API listed as platforms.
Search and Merchandising each cost $152 per month with annual billing, while Recommendations costs $88 per month. The Full Depict platform costs $352 per month and includes collections, search and recommendations, with every feature except multi-market. These are the published amounts for the up-to-50,000 monthly-session tier; the vendor says monthly plans are available. Merchants can choose a single capability or the broader package, so the right fit depends on whether recommendations or collection controls are also needed.
The merchandising layer includes drag-and-drop collection editing, automated sorting and scheduled publishing, alongside pin, boost and bury controls across discovery surfaces. Search analytics cover queries, conversions and result performance; recommendations can use browsing history and cart contents for cross-sell, upsell, similar and previously viewed products. Shopify, Centra and Salesforce Commerce Cloud are listed integrations. However, the Shopify integration page marks search and recommendations as coming soon, so Shopify merchants should verify availability before choosing Depict.
