DAMAP helps researchers prepare funder-specific data management plans and manage data and code across the research data lifecycle. It is designed for institutional deployment, making it a fit for universities and research organizations that want to shape DMP workflows around their funders and internal systems. Researchers move through guided sections, while institutions can configure templates and recommendations for repositories.

The workflow is more configurable than a simple form builder. DAMAP supports templates for FWF, Horizon Europe, and Science Europe, and institutions can upload custom Word templates. Plans can be exported as Word documents or JSON. DMP tables capture dataset access types, embargoes, repositories, and persistent identifiers, and repository recommendations can be configured for users. These features make it useful for organizations that need planning guidance tied to local practice; it is not a repository deposit system.

DAMAP can prefill DMP content from CRIS and other institutional systems, with integrations including Elsevier Pure, ORCID, and institutional project and HR databases. It is open source under the MIT license and supports web and self-hosted deployment. The documentation describes a container-based setup that requires a database and authentication service, so institutions should expect technical work to operate it. Support channels include email and documentation, and a demo instance is available by request. Choose DAMAP if your institution wants control over templates, prefilling, and recommendations; organizations seeking a hosted repository workflow rather than planning software should look elsewhere.
