Constructor review
A Windows-based construction suite with strong estimating, cost control and project management.

Constructor is construction management software for Australian residential and commercial builders. It brings estimating, visual take-offs, bills of quantities, specifications, budgets, purchasing, scheduling, payroll and reporting into a Windows-based application. The workflow covers projects from estimating through handover, making it a fit for teams that want estimating and operational cost management in one system. It is less suitable for businesses that need a browser-first or multi-platform product.
Pricing is split across two monthly plans. Core & 1 License costs $221 per month and includes estimating, cost control, specifications, take-offs, and updates and support. Core, Accounting & 1 License costs $269 per month and adds budgets, purchase orders and claims, along with everything in the Core Module and continued updates and support. The higher tier is the more relevant option for teams that need purchasing and accounting-related workflows rather than estimating alone. There is no free plan.
The standout strength is the breadth of construction-specific cost and project controls. Users can work with project budgets, cost centres, invoices, claims, sales documents, schedules, task assignments, employee timesheets and builder profitability reports. Constructor can use a customer-managed Microsoft SQL Server instance, including deployment through cloud providers, but remote or cloud use requires customer-managed infrastructure. That technical requirement adds responsibility during deployment and ongoing administration. Choose Constructor if Windows compatibility, detailed estimating and cost tracking are priorities; consider another product if your team requires broader platform support or a lighter infrastructure setup.
