Our verdict on CodeDreams
CodeDreams is a browser-based coding and computer science platform for children, families, and K–12 classrooms. Learners build projects in JavaScript or Python, and its AI-assisted builder turns conversational requests into code they can edit and inspect. Learn mode teaches programming concepts through the learner’s own project, making the platform a fit for people who want guided coding alongside app creation rather than lessons alone.
The plan structure links AI changes and publishing capacity. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes unlimited draft projects, 7 AI changes on every app, JavaScript and Python projects, and Learn mode. Starter costs $14.99 monthly or $143.99 annually, with unlimited changes on every app, 1 published project, and priority email support. Creator costs $24.99 monthly or $239.99 annually and allows 3 published projects at once; Studio costs $44.99 monthly or $431.99 annually and allows 10. Both include unlimited changes and priority email support. Classroom is billed yearly at a stated initial rate of $4.99 per student per month, with seat-based billing, free teacher accounts, and class sizes up to 200 students.
Classroom tools are a notable distinction: teachers can assign lessons and projects, review rosters and assignment completion, access student projects, and message students privately. Projects can be published as shareable web apps. The strongest fit is for learners who want to make projects while learning coding, or teachers who need assignment and progress tools alongside student work. People looking only for standalone coding lessons, or who need more than one published project on Starter, may prefer a different fit.
