Our verdict on CodeArc
CodeArc brings coding lessons, practice and classroom tools together in a browser-based platform for school learners, families and teachers. Its curriculum-mapped tutorials include an editor at each lesson step, and learners can move between guided material, graded challenges, learning games and a code playground. The curriculum spans Year 8 through A-Level, with exam practice and content for multiple stages. That combination suits learners who want structured study alongside coding practice, rather than a tool focused only on open-ended projects.
The free plan is a meaningful entry point: it includes daily guided lessons, the full beginner curriculum, junior and GCSE-level challenges, a playground, 50 AI tutor messages per month and five graded Prompt Lab prompts per day. Pro is $10.15 per month when billed monthly or $8.46 per month annually; both plans raise the AI tutor allowance to 1,000 messages monthly and add full daily Prompt Lab access, voice tutoring, photo-question solving, A-Level and university-track content, and an exam-prep dashboard. Family costs $20.30 monthly or $16.92 monthly with annual billing, adding parent progress views and separate progress tracking for each learner. Schools pay $3.81 per seat per month on annual billing, with teacher insights, curriculum mapping, tests and classroom policy controls.
For schools, the strongest fit is the connection between student practice and teacher oversight: educators can set tests and track competency, and exam mode disables AI. SSO and bulk seat provisioning also support classroom administration. Family accounts add parent reports and a personal tutor for each child. The trade-off is that CodeArc is web-only, and its free plan's AI allowance is modest relative to paid tiers. Choose it for curriculum-linked school learning, broad language practice and classroom tracking; learners seeking a non-browser platform or a course centered on something other than school curricula may prefer another option.
