Our verdict on Clippings.me
Clippings.me is a web-based portfolio builder for journalists, writers, bloggers, and students. It lets users create a portfolio without coding, add articles from URLs, upload PDF files, embed video and audio, and customize their biography, profile image, background image, and colors. Published portfolios support mobile viewing, making the product a focused option for presenting written work in a shareable format.
Pricing is structured around a free Starter plan and two Professional plans. Starter is free for life and supports up to 10 clippings. Professional Monthly and Professional Annual both provide unlimited clippings, a custom domain, Google Analytics integration, password protection, a spam-protected contact form, and priority support. The listed starting price is 9.99. This makes the free tier suitable for a small body of work, while the paid tiers are aimed at writers who need a larger archive, audience measurement, private access, or direct contact from portfolio visitors.
The strongest fit is for writers importing work that already exists elsewhere. Clippings.me supports YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, and Google Analytics, while video and audio are embedded from third-party hosts rather than hosted directly in the portfolio. That keeps the product aligned with articles, clips, and selected multimedia rather than a broader media-production workflow. Choose it if your priority is a simple writing portfolio with URL imports, PDF support, customization, and optional professional controls. A different portfolio builder may be a better fit if your work depends on direct video hosting inside the portfolio.
