Our verdict on ChessPM

ChessPM is chess training software for players who want to turn their own games into structured study. It imports PGN files, edits and annotates games, and uses chess engines to identify tactical positions or moves with significant evaluation losses. Those positions can become exercises, while solving history, statistics, retries, and timed practice provide a record of training. Opening-focused players can build, browse, and test repertoires or construct statistical opening books from PGN collections. Games, exercises, and repertoires are stored locally, with Windows and web access listed.

The published pricing shows a free plan with a basic feature set available indefinitely, plus a one-time 21-day trial of advanced features without a card. Starter costs €28 per month for six months, €22 per month for 12 months, or €1,120 as a permanent purchase, covering puzzle and position solving, basic game editing, timed practice, and solve statistics. Advanced costs €56 monthly for six months, €45 monthly for 12 months, or €2,290 permanently, adding opening repertoire building, Big Book construction, and Auto-Repertoire Builder. Complete costs €88 per month for six months or €70 per month for 12 months, adding gap and missed-opportunity detection, a PGN Engine Scanner, tactic building, and enhanced engine analysis. Pricing is arranged individually and packages can be scoped to selected features.

Engine and file compatibility are central strengths: ChessPM supports multiple UCI-compatible engines, includes preconfigured Stockfish, and works directly with PGN collections. Training can run sequentially or in shuffled order, with progress statistics and retry-on-wrong-answer behavior. The focus is narrower than a lesson platform, since no lesson library is listed, and mobile apps are unavailable. Choose ChessPM if your study material is primarily your games and opening files; consider another option if you need mobile learning or ready-made lesson content.
