ChatExcel is a web-based AI data analysis tool for people who work with business spreadsheets, including analysts and founders. Users can ask questions in natural language and get analysis of full worksheets, with tables, insights, and interactive charts. It also generates and explains Excel formulas, and supports multiple sheets in Excel workbooks. Its focus is conversational analysis of spreadsheet data rather than a broader data-analysis workspace.
According to ChatExcel's published plans, Plus costs $29 per month and includes 50 file credits monthly, files up to 10MB, natural-language queries, statistical analysis and insights, interactive charts, and multi-sheet Excel support. Pro is $99 per month, with 250 file credits and files up to 20MB, plus an advanced AI model, advanced statistical analysis, and pattern recognition and insights. Premium costs $149 per month and raises the limits to 500 file credits and files up to 30MB; it also includes the advanced model, advanced statistical analysis, charts, and pattern recognition and insights. The higher tiers make most sense when their larger file allowances and sizes match regular spreadsheet workloads.
File support includes Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb), OpenDocument (.ods), CSV, and TSV. Alongside charts and formula help, the tool can analyze trends, patterns, anomalies, and summary statistics, and extract tables from spreadsheet data. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 30 days. ChatExcel may suit spreadsheet users who want to ask questions directly of their files and value multi-sheet analysis; its paid-only plans and monthly credit limits may not fit occasional users or those seeking a free option.
