CharlieHR is a hosted HR platform for small businesses, startups and growing UK teams. It brings employee records, document storage and payroll information together with onboarding workflows, time-off and absence management, performance reviews, engagement polls, perks, reporting and integrations. Founders, managers, operations teams and HR professionals can use it to organise routine people administration in one place.

Pricing is based on team-size brackets rather than a per-user rate. The Charlie plan for 1–4 team members costs £21 per month, with employee records, onboarding, time off, performance reviews, engagement, perks and benefits. The 5–9 team member plan costs £47 per month and includes the core Charlie HR features. Charlie Grow costs £200 per month and adds a dedicated HR advisor, AskCharlie AI, growth strategy, urgent support, compliance and policies. Charlie Recruit costs £55 per month and adds automated recruitment tasks, interview scheduling, eSignature contracts, best-fit analysis, blind hiring features and a custom careers site. A 7-day free trial is available.

Its ecosystem fit is a practical strength for small teams: CharlieHR connects with Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, iCal, Slack, Xero, PayCaptain, Teamtailor and Workable, and provides API access. That makes it suitable when HR administration needs to connect with calendars, payroll or recruitment workflows. The trade-off is a narrower operational scope: time tracking is not included, and the product is delivered through web and API rather than a mobile app. Choose CharlieHR for lightweight people operations and core employee processes; consider an alternative if workforce time tracking or mobile access is central to your requirements.

Vendors can pay for top positions in our rankings and for a place on other products' pages, and we may earn a commission when you click some links.
