Charitable is a self-hosted WordPress donation and fundraising plugin for nonprofits, charities, churches, schools, community groups, and individual causes. It adds campaign pages, embedded donation forms, donor profiles, giving history, automated receipt emails, reports, and payment gateway connections to an organization’s own WordPress website. A free Lite version is available, while paid plans add recurring donations, fundraising tools, and administration features. This makes Charitable a strong fit for organizations that want fundraising to run inside their existing WordPress site rather than on a hosted fundraising platform.

The plan structure is clear. Lite provides free access but applies a 3% transaction fee. Basic costs $149 per year and includes donation forms, a visual campaign builder, donor management, PDF receipts, donation reports, and a donor dashboard. Plus costs $199 per year and adds recurring donations, Fee Relief, annual receipts, Gift Aid, and anonymous donations. Pro costs $399 per year and adds peer-to-peer fundraising, crowdfunding, Donation Teams, donation recovery, and conversion tracking. Elite costs $599 per year and adds multisite support and client management. Paid plans have no Charitable platform fee.

Payment flexibility is a major strength. The published integrations include Stripe, Square, PayPal, Authorize.Net, Braintree, Mollie, GoCardless, Windcave, PayFast, Payrexx, Paystack, PayUMoney, and Razorpay, alongside offline donations by check, cash, or bank transfer. Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign are also supported. Fundraising teams can use filtered and exportable reports, recurring monthly or yearly gifts, and peer-to-peer tools on higher tiers. Choose Charitable if your organization manages WordPress and needs broad payment options; choose another product if you need a hosted platform outside the web or self-hosted model.
