Our verdict on CEDAR Studio Restore
CEDAR Studio Restore is a professional audio-restoration plug-in bundle for repairing damaged recordings. It is aimed at audio professionals working on music, film, broadcast, archives and other restoration projects. The package addresses several common problems in one collection: Declick handles clicks and pops, Decrackle targets crackle, Auto Dehiss reduces hiss, DeBuzz removes buzz and hum, and DeClip 2 reconstructs clipped samples. Adaptive Limiter 2 adds output peak control and loudness maximization.
Pricing is straightforward: the Restore Bundle costs £349 plus tax as a one-time purchase. It includes Debuzz, Declip 2, Decrackle, Auto Dehiss and Declick, and a 14-day trial is available. This structure suits buyers who prefer a single purchase for a focused restoration toolkit rather than an ongoing subscription. The paid bundle concentrates its value in specialist repair processes, with additional functions including Manual Declick for scratches and extended clicks and DeThump for low-frequency thumps in Pro Tools.
Platform fit is strongest for users already working inside compatible hosts. CEDAR Studio processes are available on Windows and macOS in AAX, VST2, VST3 and AU formats. Some of the bundle’s broader restoration functions are tied to specific workflows: Manual Declick and DeThump are available in Pro Tools. That makes the package a good choice for professionals who want dedicated plug-ins for recurring click, crackle, noise, hum and clipping problems. Buyers who need spectral repair or a broader standalone editing workflow should choose a different restoration tool.
