Cascadia PLM is an open-source product lifecycle management system for engineering and manufacturing teams. Its connected data model brings together requirements, parts, multi-level bills of materials, documents, engineering change orders, workflows, revisions, files, and work instructions. It suits organizations that want broad PLM coverage while retaining control over deployment, licensing, or both. The product supports web access, Windows, macOS, Linux, APIs, and self-hosted deployment, with managed cloud and commercial licensing available as alternatives.

Pricing spans a free Self-Hosted Core plan and several paid paths. Self-Hosted Core includes the complete core PLM under AGPL-3.0, unlimited editors and viewers, and deployment on your own infrastructure. Managed Cloud provides a dedicated managed instance with unlimited viewer seats and editor-based pricing, with monthly and annual configurations. Separate Managed Cloud options cover up to 50 editors and up to 100 editors. Commercial licensing adds a 90-day Pilot, Growth licensing with no AGPL obligations, and Enterprise licensing with priority SLA and private-cloud or on-premise managed operations. Organizations should choose the paid tiers when hosted operations, commercial licensing, or enterprise capabilities matter more than minimizing subscription cost.

The standout capability is change control modeled on Git: teams can use branches, commits, tags, revision letters, isolated engineering change orders, and approvals. Requirements traceability, configurable lifecycle workflows, document versioning, BOM parsing, browser-based 3D CAD viewing, CAD conversion, and REST and SysML v2 APIs extend that core. Integrations include OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Ollama, Zoo API, KCL, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and S3-compatible object storage. The free edition is a strong fit for teams prepared to operate their own infrastructure; teams seeking enterprise connectors, SSO, or managed operations should consider the relevant commercial tier.
