CARROT Weather is an Android app for people who want more control over how forecasts and weather information are presented. It provides current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, customizable layouts and a home-screen widget. Its playful personality, achievements and secret locations add character, while the core appeal is practical: choosing forecast data, maps and alerts to suit individual preferences. It is a stronger fit for people who like adjusting a weather app than for those seeking only a simple forecast screen.
Forecast sources and map options are a key distinction. Foreca is the default source, and Premium members can access alternatives including Apple Weather, AccuWeather, Tomorrow.io, OpenWeather and others. The app also offers radar and other map layers, customizable forecast data points, and a weather time machine for historical and future lookup. Notifications cover rain, lightning, severe weather and daily summaries, with availability varying by region. This range may suit users who want to compare sources or tailor what appears in their forecast; someone who prefers a fixed, minimal presentation may not need that breadth.
The free app has optional subscriptions, and a 7-day trial is listed. Premium is $4.99 monthly or $19.99 annually, adding data sources, notifications, maps, customization and widgets. Premium Ultra is $9.99 monthly or $39.99 annually; it adds features such as storm-cell notifications where available, U.S. super-resolution radar, location-list forecasts, a weather maps widget and quick source switching. Premium Family is $14.99 monthly or $59.99 annually and shares Ultra features with up to five family members through Apple Family Sharing. Choose CARROT Weather if customization and source choice matter; consider a simpler app if you do not expect to use those controls or paid features.
