Our verdict on CareParrot
CareParrot is a cloud care-management platform for UK care homes. It brings resident records, assessments, risk reviews and daily notes together with care planning, medication administration, staff rostering and CQC compliance evidence. Its AI-written note summaries are intended to support care documentation, while the family portal provides a route for sharing updates. Homes looking to bring these care operations into one system may find its broad scope relevant; teams focused on billing or a mobile app should consider alternatives.
The standout feature set centers on connected documentation and medication workflows. Records are DSCR-ready, include audit trails and update in real time. The eMAR includes barcode checking, and care teams can access records through a web browser on phones. Alongside these functions, the platform includes family access, analytics and CQC evidence and reporting. CareParrot is cloud deployed and lists ISO 27001 compliance. Its fit is strongest where digital records, medication processes and compliance evidence are central to the home's workflow.
CareParrot is paid software with one plan, CareParrot Core, covering care plans, eMAR, rostering, CQC compliance, the family portal and analytics. The vendor offers a 14-day trial without requiring a card; there is no free plan. Pricing is based on resident count, and the vendor advertises annual billing as 20% cheaper. The product is web-only, and billing is not among its listed features. Homes wanting AI-assisted care documentation and a combined care-management toolkit should consider it; those needing billing functionality or a dedicated mobile platform may be better served elsewhere.
