Cadeau review
A focused digital gift-card system with strong branding and no monthly fee.

Cadeau is a web and API-based gift-card platform for Canadian independent restaurants and retailers. It lets businesses sell branded digital gift cards through their own websites using an embeddable widget, with support for custom logos, colors, fonts, and card designs. The bilingual English/French experience, multi-location support, and online sales focus make it a practical fit for operators that want a standalone gift-card channel alongside an existing point-of-sale system.
The Pay As You Go plan costs CAD 0 per month and includes unlimited gift cards, unlimited card designs, the branded embed widget, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, email delivery, and a full analytics dashboard. Cadeau charges 3% per gift-card transaction in addition to the monthly price. Stripe Connect handles payment processing and payouts, while WordPress, Shopify, and Angular support can help businesses add the widget within their existing website or development setup. Scheduled delivery adds a useful option for planned gifting.
Cadeau’s strongest area is the digital customer experience: branded cards can be sold online, delivered by email, scheduled for later, or added to mobile wallets. Reporting covers sales, redemptions, and revenue, giving multi-location businesses a clear view of gift-card activity. The trade-off is a narrow format and channel focus. Cadeau supports digital cards and online sales, but not physical cards, and it does not provide native POS integration. Choose it if branded digital gifting, wallet passes, and straightforward website embedding matter most; consider another option if in-store POS connectivity or physical gift cards is central to your operation.
