C1 Lifecycle is an identity lifecycle platform from C1.ai for organizations managing employee, non-human, and AI-agent identities. It connects HR and directory events to workflows covering onboarding, role changes, and offboarding across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises systems. Teams can provision day-one access, revoke accounts and entitlements, record offboarding actions, and identify access that may have been missed. Policy-driven self-service resource requests and approval workflows extend its use beyond automated departure processes.
Its strongest fit is for identity teams that need configurable lifecycle automation across a varied technology estate. Integrations include Active Directory, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, HRIS systems, SCIM endpoints, SaaS applications, cloud infrastructure, and on-premises systems. No-code workflow configuration supports standard processes, while Functions, APIs, webhooks, and Terraform provide paths for custom logic and infrastructure-oriented administration. This makes C1 Lifecycle more suitable for organizations that need extensibility than for teams seeking only a simple employee departure checklist.
The commercial model has two published structures. Platform uses SKU-based pricing, with a configurable managed-identity program size and C1 Lifecycle available as a product module. Flex uses usage-based pricing, where billable events consume C1 Tokens and billing occurs monthly. The pricing model is contact-sales, and there is no free plan. Choose C1 Lifecycle when cross-system access removal, event-driven automation, and extensibility are priorities. Consider another category option if the primary requirement is a broader offboarding program centered on physical asset recovery, exit checklists, or knowledge transfer.
C1 Lifecycle pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Triggers workflows from HR and directory events
- Revokes entitlements and detects missed offboarding access
- Extends no-code flows with Functions, APIs, webhooks, and Terraform
- Where it doesn't
- Pricing requires a sales conversation
- No free plan is offered
- Focuses on identity access rather than broader exit administration
