Business in a Box is a cloud-based business operating system with employee directory and management features for founders, small businesses, growing teams, and mid-sized organizations. Its directory supports searchable profiles, organizational charts, department browsing, reporting relationships, role and contact details, custom fields, and visibility controls. HR-connected updates can reflect hiring, promotions, transfers, and offboarding, while employees can access self-service tools. The broader platform also includes work management, documents, communication, AI tools, and business templates.

The published plans show a Free tier with core platform access and no credit card required. Solo costs $199 per user per year with annual billing and adds AI Business Plan, Business AI, work management, and employee and business contacts. Team is shown at $39 per account per month, with employee management, team chat, shared work, and company branding. Business is shown at $99 per account per month and adds advanced work management, time and salary cost tracking, workload management, reports and analytics, and departments and organization. Enterprise adds multi-organization structure, unlimited users, SSO/SAML, private cloud, and a dedicated manager.

For HR operations, the feature coverage is broad: employee directories connect with the HR module, while Tasks, Projects, Team Chat, Video Calls, and Dashboards extend the platform beyond directory management. It runs on web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. The pricing comparison marks Integrations & API as coming soon, which matters for teams planning a deeper technical ecosystem. Choose Business in a Box when employee records, org structure, onboarding, performance management, and work coordination belong in one system. Choose a more specialized business-plan product when creating and refining formal business plans is the central requirement.
