A broad construction ERP for teams that value open-source access and self-hosting.

BuildSuite is a construction-focused ERP for builders, contractors, and project-based construction teams. It brings project accounting, job costing, BOQ estimation, site execution, procurement, workforce and payroll, subcontractor management, and client reporting into one system. Project entries can be coded to projects and cost codes, while teams can manage budgets, commitments, actuals, margins, progress updates, attendance, receipts, expenses, and payments. It supports web, iOS, Android, API, and self-hosted deployments.
Pricing centers on two deployment choices. Community self-hosted is free and includes the full source, every module, unlimited users, community support on GitHub, documentation, and upgrade notes. Platform, managed provides managed cloud hosting, unlimited users, backups and updates, a mobile app for site teams, and a named support contact. Managed pricing is quote-based and per site, making the self-hosted edition the clearer fit for teams that prioritize cost control, source access, and deployment ownership. Teams seeking hosted administration and a defined support contact may prefer the managed plan.
The product’s breadth is its main differentiator: job costing, commitment tracking, progress billing, retainage tracking, subcontractor management, advanced project reporting, procurement, payroll, and daily client reporting are all part of the construction workflow. Integrations are narrower, with Tally, biometric devices, and bank files listed. BuildSuite suits construction teams that want a broad, construction-specific system with open-source access and flexible deployment. It may be less suitable for organizations that require a larger integration ecosystem or prefer a more established product maturity profile.
BuildSuite pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Job costing covers budget, committed, actual, and margin views
- Covers procurement, payroll, subcontractors, and site progress workflows
- Free self-hosted option with full source and every module
- Where it doesn't
- Integrations are limited to Tally, biometric devices, and bank files
- Managed pricing is quote-based and priced per site
- Founded in 2022, so its maturity may not suit every team
