Browserfax is an online fax service for individuals, freelancers, and small businesses that need to send documents without a fax machine or phone line. It works through the web app, Windows, macOS, Linux, and a Chrome extension. Users can upload PDF, JPG, and PNG files, merge multiple files into one fax, track delivery status, and receive fax-to-email notifications with download links. Fax-number plans also provide a browser inbox for incoming faxes.

Pricing covers both occasional and recurring faxing. Start free includes 20 free pages after Google sign-in and requires no credit card. One-time packs cost $4 for 25 pages, $11 for 100 pages, or $49 for 1,000 pages, with pages that never expire. Basic costs $8 per month for a dedicated US fax number, unlimited incoming faxes, and 100 outgoing pages monthly. Pro costs $16 per month for 500 outgoing pages monthly. Annual versions cost $72 for Basic annual and $144 for Pro annual, with the same incoming-fax and outgoing-page allowances as their monthly counterparts. Automatic page refunds when a fax fails add a useful safeguard for paid sending.

Browserfax fits buyers who want a browser-first fax workflow, occasional prepaid sending, or a dedicated number for receiving documents. Its delivery tracking, file handling, and email notifications cover core online fax tasks without requiring a phone line. The platform supports international faxing, while mobile apps and integrations are not part of the offering. The vendor’s privacy policy describes HIPAA-compliant encryption, but its September 2026 guide states that Browserfax does not offer a signed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement. Organizations that require a signed BAA, mobile access, or connected business-app workflows should choose an alternative; browser-focused users with straightforward fax needs are the stronger fit.
