Brindle Reference Checking is a web-based platform for temporary staffing, labour hire, contract recruitment, and related agencies in Australia and New Zealand. It supports the reference process from candidate consent and referee contact through reminders, progress monitoring, response collection, and structured reporting. Recruiters can create reusable templates with open, scaled, multiple-choice, and scenario-based questions. The workflow is designed for teams handling repeated reference checks alongside an existing ATS, rather than as an ATS replacement.
The published plans are organised by monthly reference volume. On annual billing, Foundation costs $299 per month for 80 references and 160 CV templates, Growth costs $599 per month for 240 references and 480 CV templates, and Scale costs $1,199 per month for 600 references and 1,200 CV templates. Each annual plan includes quota that rolls month to month. Monthly billing costs $499, $1,069, or $2,139 per month for Foundation, Growth, or Scale, respectively, with 80, 240, or 600 references. CV templating is available as an annual-plan add-on for monthly plans. A 90-day trial is available, but there is no free plan.
Brindle’s strongest fit is a recruitment operation that needs a guided, repeatable process across different reference channels. Referees can respond through a guided web conversation, while recruiters have a phone fallback for references conducted by phone. Structured reports can be exported as PDF, and live tracking gives teams visibility into references in progress. The main ecosystem limitation is the lack of current ATS integrations, although the vendor says integrations are on the roadmap. Teams that require direct ATS connectivity should consider an alternative; teams prioritising reusable workflows, consent capture, outreach, reminders, and mixed-channel collection may find Brindle a suitable match.
