Our verdict on Boxy Suite
Boxy Suite is a paid macOS desktop suite for people who want Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Keep, and Google Contacts as dedicated applications rather than browser tabs. Its macOS-styled interface brings these Google productivity tools into separate desktop clients, with quick account switching and multi-account access for users managing more than one account. The suite is particularly suited to Mac users who prefer keyboard-driven desktop workflows, notifications, dark mode, and a native-style presentation of Google services.
The feature set focuses on making Gmail more useful as a desktop application. Gmail search includes advanced filters, while Reader Mode and email tracking detection add tools for handling messages. The Quick Launcher supports navigation between accounts and views, and global unread counts and notifications keep activity visible outside the individual apps. macOS keyboard shortcuts add another desktop-oriented control layer. Calendar, Keep, and Contacts extend the suite beyond email, but the overall scope remains centered on Google’s ecosystem rather than general-purpose email management.
According to the vendor’s pricing page, Boxy Suite costs $39 per year, with pricing potentially varying by location, and includes the Gmail, Calendar, Keep, and Contacts clients plus the macOS desktop applications. A 14-day free trial is available. Task manager integrations cover Things, OmniFocus, 2Do, and Todoist, giving users options for connecting email-related work to supported task tools. Boxy Suite is a good fit for Mac users committed to Gmail who want dedicated apps and desktop notifications; users who need Windows support or broader email-service coverage should choose a different email client.
