A free Malaysian wallet for domestic transfers, QR payments and everyday bills.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Boost is a Malaysia-focused mobile e-wallet for consumers and merchants who need everyday payments alongside domestic money transfers. Available on iOS and Android, it supports transfers between Boost accounts and DuitNow payments to participating Malaysian banks and e-wallets. The wallet also covers QR-code merchant payments, cash-in, top-ups, bill payments and transaction history, making it suited to solo users and small businesses with primarily Malaysian payment needs.
The free core offering is the clearest part of Boost’s positioning. Peer-to-peer transfers between Boost accounts and DuitNow transfers are available within the wallet, while recipient lookup can use a bank account, mobile number, NRIC/MyKad, passport, police or army ID, or business registration. Transaction confirmation and history support basic payment tracking. DuitNow integration extends transfers beyond Boost accounts, and WeChat Pay QR and UnionPay integrations broaden the payment ecosystem for supported transactions.
Boost is more focused than a general international remittance app. International UnionPay payments are available to eligible Premium 10K users, with foreign-currency conversion and transaction history, but the product’s documented strengths remain domestic Malaysian wallet and DuitNow transfers. Choose Boost if you want a free mobile wallet that combines transfers, QR payments, bills and top-ups in one app. Consider an alternative if your main requirement is conventional cross-border remittance rather than Malaysian domestic payments.
