Bookkeep is an ecommerce and retail accounting platform for businesses that need sales, payout, marketplace, inventory, tax, and accounting data connected in one workflow. It imports transaction data from channels such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, PayPal, Square, Stripe, and other platforms, then creates daily accrual-based journal entries in accounting systems including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. It is best suited to merchants managing multiple sales channels, complex payouts, inventory costs, or fulfillment-based revenue recognition.

Pricing starts with Lite at $19 per month and includes unlimited users, sub-category mapping for one listed sales channel, automated posting to QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Zoho Books, and email support with a one-business-day response time. Starter costs $49 per month and adds manual journal-entry editing, tax-rate mapping, and same-day live chat support. Growth is $99 per month and adds posting to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and Intuit Enterprise Suite, plus inter-app mapping and a dedicated onboarding and mapping session. Pro costs $199 per month and adds managed sales-tax filing for eligible US merchants, managed COGS for Amazon, Shopify, and Walmart, and Shopify payout splitting by location. Advanced is $499 per month with fulfillment-based revenue recognition for Shopify, a dedicated account manager, and priority live support. Unlimited costs $1,199 per month and adds unlimited sales channels, BOPIS reporting, and unlimited Shopify payout-splitting transfers.

The standout strength is the combination of reconciliation, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting. Bookkeep can match deposits with fees, refunds, and taxes; handle deferred transactions until fulfillment; and support purchase orders, receiving, weighted-average costing, and landed-cost allocation. Its REST API also supports integrations and journal-entry workflows. The tradeoff is that several advanced accounting connections and operational services require higher-priced tiers, while sales-tax filing is specifically framed for eligible US merchants. Choose Bookkeep for automated, multi-channel ecommerce accounting with inventory depth; consider another option if you need a free plan or only basic bookkeeping.
