Bokio is cloud accounting and bookkeeping software for entrepreneurs, sole traders, small businesses, and accountants. Its feature set covers bank feeds with automatic transaction imports, receipt scanning, bookkeeping templates, cash and accrual accounting, invoice management, quotes, recurring invoices, expenses, VAT returns for Making Tax Digital, financial reports, and fixed asset management. For a gym, that combination suits routine bookkeeping, supplier expenses, customer billing, and VAT administration. However, Bokio UK closed on 7 July 2026 and is no longer accessible to UK users, so it is not a current choice for UK gyms.

The published Premium pricing shows £24.95 per month, billed either quarterly or annually. The plan includes smart bookkeeping templates, bank feeds, a receipt inbox, invoices and quotes, expense management, and unlimited users. There is no free plan. That gives the product a straightforward paid structure, with the main question being whether its accounting coverage fits the business rather than whether multiple tiers are needed. Cash and accrual methods, automated reports, and VAT returns add useful scope for businesses with regular financial administration.

Bokio connects with Zettle, Stripe, and Toggl, but it has no listed fitness integrations. It is web-only in the category positioning, which may matter to gym operators who want a dedicated mobile workflow or direct links to fitness-management systems. Swedish businesses can consider it for general accounting, invoicing, expenses, and VAT work. UK gyms should choose an alternative that is currently available in the UK, particularly if local access and fitness-platform connectivity are priorities.

Bokio pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Bank feeds and receipt scanning reduce manual transaction entry
    • Supports cash and accrual accounting, VAT returns, and financial reports
    • Invoices, quotes, recurring invoices, expenses, and fixed assets are included
  • Where it doesn't
    • Bokio UK closed on 7 July 2026 and is unavailable to UK users
    • Web-only access does not include a mobile platform
    • There is no free plan, and the Premium plan costs £24.95 per month
