Bezel organizes and launches legally owned retro games in a console-style library for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Steam Deck. It supports more than 25 retro systems alongside GOG games, scanning ROMs and disc images into a library with offline metadata, artwork, descriptions, genres, and developer information. Controller-first navigation and couch mode make it suited to people who want a living-room experience rather than a desktop-focused launcher.

The free tier covers the core library experience: built-in cores, RetroArch integration, save states, cloud-folder synchronization, collections, patches, manuals, custom bezels, and RetroAchievements. Disc playback and ripping to CHD files add useful coverage for physical-media collections. Synchronization works through user-managed folders connected to services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or a NAS, while RetroAchievements, YouTube, and Twitch extend the surrounding ecosystem. The free plan therefore has meaningful scope without requiring a subscription for basic library management.

Paid plans focus on Bezelie, the optional AI companion, rather than unlocking the core launcher. Premium costs $14.99 per month and adds live chat, persistent memories, learning, dreams, commentary, and no API key management. Premium+ costs $34.99 per month and adds the most capable AI model, deeper memory and recall, and unlimited hours. Choose Bezel for a broad, controller-friendly retro library with offline features and emulator support. It is less suitable for users seeking a finished non-beta product, a stable macOS release, or AI features included in the free launcher.
