Our verdict on Bar Exam Drills
Bar Exam Drills is a mobile bar-exam preparation app for learners who prefer active practice over lecture-based study. It covers UBE preparation and state-specific preparation for California, Georgia, New York, Texas, Florida, and Illinois. The app centers on more than 2,000 licensed and simulated NCBE questions, detailed answer explanations, performance analytics, and a five-layer essay strategy. Its intended audience is solo bar candidates using an iOS device, particularly those prioritizing MBE questions and essay practice.
The published plans divide the product into app access, evaluated writing, and tutoring. App Only Mastery costs $399.99 and includes the app, the full question set, pattern-seeking analytics, and the five-layer strategy engine. App + Human Grading costs $699.99 and adds unlimited human essay grading, five-layer essay strategy training, and priority email support. Elite Zoom Tutoring includes the app and human-grading features, one-to-one Zoom sessions, a custom study schedule, and milestone performance tracking. This structure lets candidates choose between self-directed drills, writing review, or individualized tutoring.
The standout depth is the combination of question explanations, longitudinal result tracking, and structured essay training rather than a lecture library. Video explanations are available for many questions, while analytics track learner results over time. The platform fit is narrow: deployment is mobile and limited to iOS, with email listed as a support channel and Zoom used for tutoring sessions. Candidates wanting Android access, a free starting option, or a lecture-first course should look elsewhere. iOS users seeking a concentrated practice workflow, with the option to add human essay review or tutoring, are the clearest fit.
