BanManager review
A broad, free moderation suite for teams managing multiple Minecraft servers.

BanManager is an open-source Minecraft moderation plugin for server operators and staff teams. It brings permanent and temporary bans, IP and IP-range bans, mutes, shadow muting, warnings, kicks, player reports, staff notes, and moderation history into one moderation workflow. Its scope suits networks that need consistent punishments and records across multiple servers rather than a narrow plugin for a single moderation action.
Its strongest differentiator is breadth. Reports can be assigned, commented on, closed, and paired with teleportation, while warnings support configurable escalation hooks. Staff notes, audit logs, player moderation history, and cross-server punishment synchronization give teams more context when handling repeat or network-wide issues. The optional self-hosted WebUI extends that workflow with player lookup, appeals, dashboards, role-based permissions, mobile-responsive access, and multi-server management. BanManager also supports MySQL and MariaDB, and its category coverage includes proxy support, chat filters, and a staff web panel.
BanManager is free and open source, with no paid tiers described. The WebUI is an additional deployment component: it requires BanManager, WebEnhancer, and MySQL or MariaDB. That architecture fits operators who want control over hosting and data, but it is less suitable for teams seeking a hosted moderation dashboard with minimal infrastructure management. Report functionality is unavailable on Velocity, which is an important platform constraint for networks using that proxy. Choose BanManager when broad punishment coverage, report handling, staff records, auditability, and self-hosted multi-server administration are central requirements; choose an alternative when Velocity report workflows or a hosted service are essential.
