Axway EBICS Gateway is an enterprise gateway for exchanging payment files, account statements, transaction notes, payment status reports and signatures between banks, corporates and back-office systems. It supports both EBICS client and server deployments, making it suitable for mid-market and enterprise organizations, banks and service providers that need customer-managed or Axway-managed deployment on cloud or self-hosted infrastructure. Administration is provided through a web interface on Windows and Linux environments.

Axway uses a sales-led pricing model, so organizations must contact the vendor rather than select a public self-service tier. There is no free plan. The deployment options cover cloud and self-hosted operation, while data-at-rest encryption is available as an option. Support includes email and documentation channels, with 24/7 support available. This structure fits procurement-led financial operations that require vendor involvement during licensing and rollout, but it is less suited to smaller teams seeking transparent online pricing or a free starting tier.

The gateway’s main strength is breadth across financial exchange protocols and formats. It supports EBICS, FTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, SFTP, JMS, PeSIT, ETEBAC, EDIINT AS1/AS2/AS3, OFTP and SWIFTNet, with real-time refresh and MT940, MT942, CAMT XML and AFB/CFONB statements. Integrations include Axway Sentinel, Axway Integrator, Axway Messaging, Axway PassPort, Keycloak and LDAP; Sentinel can add end-to-end monitoring. Choose it when multi-protocol connectivity, EBICS client/server coverage and operational controls are priorities. Organizations needing a narrower, simpler connector or AI capabilities should consider a more focused alternative.
