AxolotlClient Waypoints is a free, open-source mod for Minecraft Java Edition. It adds a minimap, a world map, and waypoints that can be scoped to a world or dimension. The mod is suited to players who want navigation tools with cave visibility, as well as server administrators who need control over map and cave-visibility settings. It supports Fabric, Ornithe, and Quilt across versions including 1.8.9, 1.20–1.20.1, 1.21–1.21.1, 1.21.7–1.21.8, 1.21.10–1.21.11, 26.1.2, and 26.2.
Its strongest feature set is the combination of map coverage and waypoint scope. Players can use both a minimap and a world map, while world- and dimension-specific waypoints help keep locations organized across different areas. Cave visibility is available on both map views, giving the mod a narrower focus than a basic waypoint-only add-on. The trade-off is a focused ecosystem: the mod is for Java Edition and supports Fabric, Ornithe, and Quilt rather than a wider loader range. Choose it for free, open-source mapping with cave visibility and dimension-aware waypoints; choose another option if your setup does not use one of those loaders or if AxolotlClient HUD integration is not relevant.
