Our verdict on Atlassian Assets
Atlassian Assets is an asset and configuration management app for teams tracking physical and digital assets, services, vendors, contracts, software licenses, and other connected business objects. It suits IT, operations, facilities, and service teams that need a shared inventory with dependencies mapped to work in Jira, Jira Service Management, or Teamwork Collection. For goal-tracking workflows, its fit is narrower: the published capabilities center on objects, relationships, inventories, and configuration data rather than goals, milestones, or progress tracking.
Pricing is tied mainly to Atlassian plans and object allowances rather than a standalone per-user subscription. Assets extra objects cost $0.02 per object per month, with usage-based pricing above included allowances and volume discounts available for prepaid usage packs. Jira Standard, Premium, and Enterprise each include 1,000 objects per organization. Service Collection Standard includes 5,000, Premium includes 50,000, and Enterprise includes 500,000. Teamwork Collection Standard includes 5,000 objects per organization. This structure makes the relevant cost depend on the host plan and the number of objects managed.
Its strongest area is relationship-aware asset modeling. Teams can create schemas, object types, attributes, references, statuses, and icons; import CSV, JSON, and Assets Discovery data; export object data; and visualize relationships as graphs. Basic search and advanced AQL support discovery, while bulk editing, QR codes, automation, reports, and public REST and external imports APIs extend operational workflows. Integrations include Jira Service Management, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Tempo, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, JAMF, SCCM, Snow, ServiceNow, Device42, and NVD. Choose Assets when asset relationships are central to the work; choose a dedicated goal-tracking product when objectives and progress are the primary requirement.
