Our verdict on asyncmate

asyncmate is a daily standup and check-in tool for teams that prefer asynchronous updates over live meetings. It sends scheduled questions by direct message, gathers responses, and posts a digest to a selected channel in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Teams can also use hours logging by project, polls, anonymous surveys, kudos, blocker tracking, and reporting. Its fit is strongest for small teams that want inexpensive AI-assisted check-ins without moving their workflow out of their collaboration platform.

The Free plan covers standups, check-ins, reminders, polls, project-based hours logging, a plain daily digest, 90 days of check-in and hours history, and up to 20 kudos per month. Pro costs $2.50 USD per active participant per month, billed monthly, and adds an AI digest on every run, unlimited active teammates, blocker insights and trends, unlimited kudos with dashboard tracking, anonymous polls and surveys, and full reporting history. The published plans also show a 14-day Pro trial. A launch offer makes every Pro feature free until November 1, 2026, with no card required during that offer; after it ends, the 14-day trial requires a card.

Its main strength is the combination of scheduled async check-ins and reporting-oriented features, including channel digests, recurring blocker trends, manager-reviewed hours, and CSV export. Slack and Notion integrations support a focused ecosystem, while Microsoft Teams is available through a beta installation using an organization app catalog. The product is a practical choice for teams already working in Slack or Teams and wanting lightweight visibility into progress, blockers, and next steps. Teams needing Jira integration or broader platform coverage should consider an alternative with a wider ecosystem.
