Our verdict on Art Lab
Art Lab is a mobile graphic design app from Appexel Corporation for creating posters, flyers, banners, logos, invitations and social media graphics. It suits Android users who want to make detailed designs on a phone, tablet or Chromebook, whether they prefer to adapt a template or start with a blank canvas. The app is free with in-app purchases, and its tools extend beyond basic text and image placement into layers, photo adjustments and decorative elements.
Its editing depth is a central strength. Text controls include fonts, size, color, curves, spacing, alignment and blending, while photo controls cover filters, brightness, exposure, saturation, warmth, fade and vignette. Users can add customizable shapes and frames, stickers, illustrations, ornaments and overlays, then arrange elements with layer-based editing. Watermark and logo insertion support branded designs, and collage creation offers another format for combining photos. Unsplash stock images provide an additional source of imagery within the app.
Art Lab’s fit is narrower on platform than its range of design formats might suggest: it is presented as an Android app, so it is best suited to people whose design work happens on Android devices rather than those seeking a cross-platform workflow. The free entry point makes it accessible to explore, while in-app purchases mean some costs may apply. Choose it for mobile poster editing with substantial controls and ready-made starting points; look elsewhere if Android is not part of your workflow or you need a desktop-focused design tool.
